My name is Bethany, or B for short, and I am the artist behind Bloome Studio.

I have been a visual artist for my entire cognizant life, but beyond my art, have always felt drawn to the process of building something from the ground up. As a child, I was one of seven kids in a not-so-well-off family, so I learned early on how to work both hard and smart to make the things I wanted when I had very few resources.

What I have found is that regardless of the medium (art, business, life) my greatest gift is in people. I love to connect, to teach, to learn, and to really know the people around me. I believe that when you focus on the impact you have rather than your bottom line, you cannot fail.

I'm B,

Bloome Studio

I began my career in design as an Art History and Interdisciplary Studies major at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In this program, I had the opportunity to take classes in the arts, psychology, sociology, and communications to amalgamate a concentration in visual culture and a dual major in art history. While I was completing my dual degree, I began working at the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship. This job began my experience using design tools like photoshop, wordpress, and illustrator. I credit so much of my career to the team at ECDS; without them I wouldn't have had the time and tools and encouragement to learn. I also served as a personal assistant to Dr. Jagdish Sheth, an expert in marketing who taught me about business psychology and consumer behavior.

After college I moved to Raleigh, NC and worked in marketing agencies, art galleries, and communications firms to hone my skills in art, design, marketing, and business management. For marketing roles, I worked as an editorial intern for marketing agency Three Ships and served as the lead designer for communication firm The Brock Group. I simultaneously took on a residency at 311 Gallery, both showing art and managing the gallery. I finally landed on my favorite job: Director of Art and Exhibitions at Imurj Gallery in downtown Raleigh. It was through this role that I learned just how much I love helping artists and creators and aspiring business owners find their way to sustainable success. I managed the gallery, planned events, took on our marketing, and even performed a brand revitalization just before Covid hit in March of 2020.

Unfortunately Imurj had to close its doors, but it was a blessing in disguise as I finally had the time and all the experience I needed to dive into what I knew I was always most passionate about: opening my own branding agency

In fall of 2020, I opened Brands in Bloome to help other small business owners tap into their creativity and bring their vision to life. I now live and work in Charleston, SC, with my pup Oaklyn where we soak up all the sun and creativity this vibrant little city has to offer.

I truly love what I do, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to work hand in hand with my clients to help their businesses thrive.
